At 66, Spielberg is still a vital force in Hollywood. Last year’s Lincoln was a critical and financial success, earning 12 Oscar nominations and $275 million at the global box office. Two new TV shows from his Amblin Television, Under the Dome and The Americans, are hits, and he’s an executive producer on the upcoming fourth film in the lucrative Transformers franchise.
Then there’s the money he earns from his incredible history in Hollywood. ET, Jurassic Park and Raiders of the Lost Ark are likely showing on TV somewhere in the world right now and helping to line Spielberg’s pockets. Every time a happy tourist pays for a ticket to Universal Studios in Florida, Spielberg gets a cut. Not only does he collect as a producer on Transformers, last year’s successful Men in Black 3 also added to Spielberg’s bottom line. We estimate that between June 2012 and June 2013, Spielberg earned $100 million.
